brrrr
i've five more hours of class today, with a midterm, with a short reflective essay to write before my disturbing ethics class at night discussing the moral status of animals. it's terribly cold and i'm wearing gloves in my room. pretty ridiculous, i know.anyway, i love all my roommates and one of them wrote this (see below) which was hilarious and made me happy:
dearest, darling princeton,
you know i love you dearly, but this midterm-thing really must stop. no one else i know makes their significant other write a ten page analysis of the political theory of congressional parties. it's really quite rude. if you are really that interested in political theory, write the paper yourself.

i love the girl! this was written after she pulled an all nighter finishing her essay. it's creepy how little people sleep here. i go showering at 2am and meet my hall mate fully dressed and carrying his school bag in combat mode, ready to make a trip to the campus center. this is at 2am! i'm preparing to sleep. he is preparing to start work! i'm still trying to wrap my mind around that. you can walk around the campus at 4am (if you have the courage to brave the insufferable cold that is) and find half the lights in the dorm rooms still on, and this is not because people are brats who waste electricity by sleeping with their lights on.
okay i'm going to write that short treatise on my take on animal moral status. ugh what moral status. i didn't even think animals had morals. but never mind. i will finish that paper and own my econs midterms and feel accomplished.
