randomness
again, i realise i haven't been blogging for uber long, so apologies for that. i seem to start every post feeling guilty about not writing more often. hmm. must not let that develop into a pattern, if it hasn't already.anyway, my life here in china is pretty mundane so there isn't much to blog about. other than my warped sleeping cycle due to world cup, everything else goes on as per normal. i go for my german lessons everyday and spend the remaining time either reading (most of the time), wasting my time on the net (sometimes) or doing something constructive, like plan which courses to take in the first term (rare to never).
i realised on the few times i went on msn that everyone asked me the same questions, so here's a quick faq so you won't ask these questions again.
faq
Q: how are you?
A: fine! great! i have all the time in the world to do what i like so i'm quite satisfied with my life right now. i'm all relaxed and ready for college, like the nerd i am.
Q: how's german?
A: to put a positive spin to the answer, it's interesting other than the grammar. unfortunately, half the time i'm dealing with grammar. if i want to whine about that i can turn this into a long tirade on the complexity of german grammar, but i think i shouldn't, so... german is fine :)
Q: when are you flying back to singapore?
A: on 23rd july, or plus minus one day. no i'm not going back for college day. guess i'll have to meet up with the class some other time.
Q: when are you flying to princeton?
A: 31st aug, i think. this is unconfirmed, though i have to be there in new jersey by 2nd sept, so definitely end of august.
Q: how long will you stay in singapore?
A: refer to the answers above. around a month from 20sth july to end august. if you aren't too busy and want to see me for a last time before i disappear, fix a time to go out.
Q: are you going on a scholarship?
A: no, i decided to trade paying some school fees for my freedom. which means i'll be leading a indigent life and won't fly to singapore for at least two years (unless someone offers to pay for my plane tickets).
Q: what are you majoring in?
A: not sure. probably economics, if i don't turn out to have no aptitude for it.
hmm i think that's about all. other than these, i talk to people mostly about different stuff. so far i think mildly autistic kc is the only one who asked me if i dian-ed (how do you translate that? electrocuted?) anyone in china, so the contents of my conversations are still quite varied.
to end this, i'm posting some photos i love and make me want to take introductory photography. the photographer is toshinobu takeuchi. his photographs remind me of jimmy's drawings :)
