strawberry

the days are getting warmer, thank goodness. it appears to me that everytime i blog i mention the weather. sigh can't help it when weather pretty much dictates my mood. feel ratty when it's cold.

anyway i went strawberry picking a few days back, thanks to the lovely weather. will be a photowhore this time and post some pictures! strawberry picking was really fun, even though i was walking in mud with two plastic bags tied around my shoes to keep them relatively clean.

the strawberries! and the basket contains the ones that i picked! we picked 4kg in total. quite an unimaginable quantity in singapore, considering that strawberries cost a fortune, but here they are incredibly cheap. think our 4kg cost less than 20 bucks, which translates to S$5. happiness!

this is the campus where i live. a few hundred metres away from my place. it was quite pretty when i first got here and the cherry blossoms were in full bloom, but now the trees are bare so it doesn't look as good. the campus is green and it's built on a mountain with a lake in the vicinity, so it's all quite pleasant.

lessons have started and i can now proudly tell you my name in german! not much of an achievement i know. sigh i'm still trying to learn to make my tongue vibrate to pronounce a particular consonant. the tutor said with daily practice we should be able to do it in three months. three months! darn. this means i have to practice everyday with a mouthful of water and gargle away, which supposedly involves vibration of the tongue. all i know is that when i do it semi-properly i spew water in all directions. feel like a merlion. oh well.
